A reaction to eyelash extension treatments are rare, but they can happen. It could be after the first time or after a number of treatments some years later. We can become sensitised or allergic to things after repeated exposure over time. There is no cure for allergies but they can be prevented.

A reaction during this treatment could be;

  • Discomfort around the eye area
  • Weeping eyes are weeping during treatment
  • Congested nasal passages

Less common reactions during treatment include;

  • A headache
  • Dry or sore throat
  • Tenderness around the teeth and jaw

A reaction soon after this treatment could be;

  • Discomfort around the eye area
  • Redness on the surface of the eye or they appear bloodshot
  • Red eyelids that may feel like they are burning
  • Itchy eye lids
  • Slight puffiness along the eyelid and / or under the eye
  • Swelling along the eyelid and / or under the eye that causes partial eye closure

In severe cases;

  • Blistering skin around the treated area
  • Complications with Asthma for those with respiratory conditions

If you suspect or notice any signs of a reaction to your treatment, please let Julie know as soon as possible.

It’s very rare – but if your symptoms are severe and you are concerned about them, please consult a health care practitioner for advice as soon as possible. If they need to know more about the products that I’ve used, their Safety Data Sheets can be found below.

Lash Heaven Fierce Adhesive. Used to bond the extensions to your natural lashes.

Lash Base Premium Eye Pads. Used to protect the lower lash line whilst the lashes on the upper lid are being treated.

Micropore Tape. Used to protect the lower lash line.

If they recommend that the lash extensions should be removed, I will remove them with a special Debonding agent that also removes the adhesive from your natural lashes too.

Lash Base Gel Debonder. Used to remove extensions and all traces of the adhesive from the natural lashes.

If your symptoms are not severe, I will invite you to see me so that I can remove the treatment in full.

My Lash Removal service under these circumstances will be a complimentary service offered free of charge. This must be done as soon as possible to avoid being charged for the service.

Sadly, you will not be suitable for any eyelash extension treatments again, not even after a lengthy break. Please do not attempt to have it done elsewhere as you will be putting yourself at risk.
